Child dies after drinking soft drink

An 11-year old girl died and her mother was admitted to the Polonnaruwa hospital after they had developed an adverse reaction to a soft-drink they had consumed last night, police said.

The child’s father who worked in army had bought the soft drink from a shop on his way back home and given them to his wife and to the eldest child, Polonnaruwa police stated. (K.G.Karunarathne)

very sad...but in SL no need to be surprised if the relevant authorities said the fault is with the mother and child who drank the soft drink...
