The six medical students of the Rajarata University whose studentships were suspended are contemplating instituting legal action against Vice Chancellor Prof. K. A. Nandasena. The students with their parents had already obtained legal opinion.
This suspension order had been made on January 12, by the Vice Chancellor alleging that the named students had detained him and the registrar when they visited the Saliyapura Medical Faculty. (Athula Bandara)

WHY FREE EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL
Even in India University Students have to pay some fees for university education. Do we hear these kind of nonsences from INDIA..Why Not at all. Becos parents have to pay for their University Education. So the students take maximum benefit from the money they pay to the University.
Free education must only be provided only upto the Advanced Level. in Sri Lanaka.
All University students must be charged 50% of costs . Those who have not got money, they shall be granted loans from Govt. Banks which shall be paid after graduation.
