The Diaspora Being invited to come back is one thing and the application process is another thing especially when your application is at the mercy of a young person born after you in Sri Lanka and the country was known as Ceylon when you left.

self determination does not mean separate country. It could be internal self determination, meaning some form of autonomy within Sri Lanka. That is what most of the Diaspora wants.

In Canada, Prime Ministers are bilinguals. In Sri Lanka neither Prime Minister or Ministers are not bilingual. In Canada, French Canadians can become prime minister. In Sri Lanka, it has never happened and it may not happen.
