Bus with airmen plunges down precipice

A bus carrying at least 35 airmen plunged down a precipice at Weliyaya in Moneragala today critically injuring three airmen with 21 suffering minor injuries, the Police said.

The bus was returning to the Diyathalawa Air force camp with the airmen who had attended a funeral at Dambagalla.

The Police said 34 airmen and a female officer were on the bus when the incident occurred.

The victims are being treated at the Moneragala Hospital.
