Budget 2nd reading passed

The second reading of the Budget for 2010 was passed in Parliament a short while ago with 138 Members of Parliament voting for it and 75 against while 11 members were absent when the vote was taken.

Meanwhile the opposition created a commotion in Parliament when the vote was taken. This led to government members urging the Parliament Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa to take appropriate action against the opposition. (KB)

    Who says it a budget?. It is an effort made to show the gratitude to IMF instead of giving long overdue reliefs to voters.
