The boat had been provided by the navy for an excursion to a family which visited the Kirinda harbour. The boat had capsized due to rough sea conditions.
A search operation is currently underway by the navy to find the three missing people who were on the boat, two of the missing persons are children, Captain Senarath said.
Two others who were reportedly injured are now receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. (Daily Mirror online)

I was personally concern about the safety messures Army taken when they are giving rides to the people in the sea, river and lakes. They should provide life jacket for all passengers and staffs in the future.
