Batticaloa Mayor Sivageetha Prabakaran, a former TMVP member who later joined the SLFP, has had talks with presidential candidate General Sarath Fonseka and is expected to extend support to him for the upcoming polls, TMVP sources told Daily Mirror online.

According to sources Mrs. Prabakaran had put forward several conditions in order to extend support to General Fonseka at the election including security for her and her family. Sources said that the General had agreed to most of her conditions.

When Daily Mirror online contacted General Fonseka he confirmed that he had talks with the Batticaloa Mayor to seek her support at the polls but could not comment further.
