Sri-lanka have no worries. we must include Danjaya also for the Spin attack. It is better to play one Batsman less.
amila Sunday, 07 October 2012 10:42 AM
Sorry Gayle. You are going to get out very early because our bowlers are smart enough to tackle you and the company.Unlike the other finals,it will be a surprise bowling attack by the Sri Lankans.
Jagath Leanage Sunday, 07 October 2012 12:50 AM
Nonsense. Our Mahela knows how to handle Gayle as we have a strong bowling side than yours. Getting CG out is peanuts to MJ. Only problem we will have Is Bravo, because he is good player for spinners like Lara.

the difference: probably most sri lankans in aussie would be sri lankan born and bred(or first generation lankan, born and raised there)... here, i doubt whether most of these pak/ind supporters have ever even seen pakistan, at least on tv!! plus they do seem to have a savage pleasure in supporting pakistan/india in matches against SL
observer Saturday, 06 October 2012 05:02 PM
yep.. the pakistan captain didn't have any problems about the pitch... he acknowledged that SL played better cricket that night... it's the pakistani commentators who were whining about the pitch... i didn't expect that from wasim akram!

Tell him to pack his bag and vanish- we have beaten them too-
Lanka Lion - Sydney Saturday, 06 October 2012 01:17 PM
Bailey has no excuses to make but blame himself for asking Doherty to bowl the vital last over of the match which yielded 25 valuable runs that proved too much for the aussie batsmen. A poor piece of captaincy from an inexperienced cricketer and captain.Mahela is an excellent captain and wouldn't need Bailey's advice how best to stop the Gayle force.

we appreciate the comment made by Australian Captain without giving any excuse as done by Doni and Wasim
Fair N Square Saturday, 06 October 2012 11:47 AM
Yes the captain did BUT not Wasim Akram, Abdul Qadir, Mohsin Khan and Rameez Raja ALL past captains who make a living with their two cents comments...
Like anyone cares... Hats off to Hafiz and Bailey
Fair N Square Saturday, 06 October 2012 11:44 AM
I sincerely hope Wasim Akram, Rameez Raja, Mohsin Khan and Abdul Qadir read this article and learn a lesson in being gracious in defeat.. coz of the statement they made about the pitch after losing......Hats off to u sir.. Bailey and thankx for the input.. ur advice is very much appreciated...
mj Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:31 AM
actually Pakistan also accepted defeat gracefully. Its usually the Pandit INDIANS that rarely give credit to the better team. They always say they didnt perform well instead of saying that the other team was simply better. In my opinion, the Indian cricket team is too full of themselves
Kavindu Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:49 AM
Respect Bailey! Cricket needs more like you...
Kumara Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:39 AM
Of course, the things what he discusses is absolutely correct and also a good example of other teams.. In addition to that, it shows clearly how a great captain's reaction at a defeat as well as a victory. Good luck......captain Bailey and your team. I will be hopefully waiting till you and your team playing here….
M Raoof Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:22 AM
EMAR - Some Sri lankans at the recent matches have been supporting either the Indian and/or Pakistan Team. Well, what does it matter ? Is it not freedom of expression ? When the Sri Lankans play in Australia the thousands of Sri Lankans with Australian citizenship openly support our Team ? Could it be called betrayal of the Host Country or Freedom of Expression ?.
Ralph Anthony Kern Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:12 AM
Thanks for your comments Bailey. Hope our boys took note of your valuable advice.
Umar Saturday, 06 October 2012 03:56 AM
Well said Baily. Two best teams in the finals
Gayle-will-fail Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:19 AM
What a difference ! A cricketer by the true sense of the word.
lal Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:04 AM
Gentleman and good sport, Mr Bailey ... and he did not blame the pitch. You are a welcome guest forever!
Demeter Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:01 AM
I think this time, we've seen some unexpected decency from captains of teams that otherwise would've made quite a fuss. Like the Pakistani captain and now Bailey. This is how cricket should be. Accepting circumstance, and trying to overcome it in time. Not fussing about how a pitch is slow. That too is a challenge for the players, and the talented ones will know how to overcome it. All the Best to the Lankan Lions!

MSD, never admit and never change. he lives in a different world. CRAP
Omar Saturday, 06 October 2012 05:11 AM
What about the "Sri Lankans" in Aussie do you think they are patriotic though they eat sleep &...... do everything else there and not support Australia when Sri Lanka Plays
Chams Saturday, 06 October 2012 05:09 AM
I feel MSD can learn a lesson or two from Bailey who is sincere enough to admit that the better team won the match!!
leelananda Saturday, 06 October 2012 05:02 AM
Great Australians and example to other team and captains.
Nihal Amarasekera Saturday, 06 October 2012 04:45 AM
What will the Pakistani & Indian supporters in Sri Lanka do; be patriotic, at least now.
sir Don Batsman Saturday, 06 October 2012 04:40 AM
George Baily sounds more like a singer than a cricketer to me
jagathj Saturday, 06 October 2012 04:33 AM
hats off for not blaming anybody, but accept the fact the team played best cricket on that day wins.. Even Pakistani captain admitted that at the presentation ceremony that pitch was ok and the team played best has gone for the finals.. Hats off for these captains and may be the other cricket pundits can learn a bit by listening to them..!!
shehan jayawardene Saturday, 06 October 2012 04:28 AM
Well if you want to nullify Gayle's power hitting the curator will have to prepare a pitch that no one can bat on like the pitch that was prepared for the first semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Not like Pakistanis & Indians , they are smart to accept the defeat with a smile.
