Asst. director of education suspect in sexual abuse complaint

An Assistant Director of Education in the Hingurakgoda Educational Zone was taken into custody and remanded on suspicion of sexually abusing two girls of the Hakamuna Dharmapala Bosath Children’s Home. 

He was produced before the Hingurakgoda Magistrate, Kapila Dushayantha Epitawela and remanded till February 8, 2012. Police told court that the two girls had been sexually abused since 2008, by the suspect. Further inquiries are being conducted into the incident. (K.G. Karunaratne)

    No doubt standard of education is falling as their attention is only on committing crimes on students.Maximum punishment must be given to him irrespective of which political party he belongs.

    maximum punishment should be given so that there wont be a next person and also he should not be permitted to join any educational institutions.
    Why are these students are quite they should have fear this should be addressed.

    this is a social problem. Child abuse is rampant in Sri Lanka! It needs public discussion.

    Don't trust anyone to leave your children with! The people closest to you can be the very people abusing your children. They can be relatives, close friends and neighbors.

    Working parents you risk the innocence of your children. Any abuse of this kind leaves a scar in the life of the child and causes the child to have a negative view about people and life itself.

    It's a shame that these criminals are not seriously punished and made an example out of. Pointless having all these laws limited only to books. Only way to stop these incidents is to have harsh punishments. Proven child molesters should be castrated or put behind bars for life
