The Vakarai Assistant Superintendent of Police, seven policemen and two civilians were taken into custody for allegedly treasure hunting in a Temple at Sripura in Dimbulagala, police said.
They said, the arrested was made following a tip off from the villagers, at the Manampitiya police post.

    We should not blame the whole Police force for the misdeeds of a few. Its like cutting down a tree that bears fruits, when only a couple of fruits are rotten. That would be considered very foolish. similarly few police personal are corrupt, that does not mean the whole force is bad. I know there are many who are corrupt in the S/L police force due to the low wage structure. It should be remedied, if the police force is to be redeemed.
