A man has been arrested by the Puttalam police for having a picture of slain LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabkaran and he is now being investigated for possible links with the LTTE.
The man was arrested while he was returning home in a three wheeler after having the photograph of the Tiger leader framed at a studio. The Sinhalese man has told the police that he wanted to have the picture framed to show his children and future generations what the Tiger leader looked like.
The man is to be produced in Court while the Puttalam police are conducting further investigations. (Daily Mirror online)

CID is questioning the man and the son-in-law of the man.Checking the son-in-law is also a famous routine of CID, isn't it?

His intention is right! Our future generation should know who led the merciless terrorism in sri lanka that lasted 30 years of suffering! but be cautious not to have even the photograph of the army commander who led this war!!!

why do u want a framed picture to show your future generation who prabha is? When there are 1000s of pictures in internet…

Better get your photo first & show it to CID to frame you for treason. How about that ???

There is nothing wrong in having the photo of Prabakaran, may be he want to keep it as memory.

yes great !! arrest anyone who keeps those photos. unfortunately some people still believe him. ok it is up to them. prabha is no more and no need another in the future.

karthik, this guy may not know a thing about internet as you do! dont talk nonsence!

Since there is no more LTTE, how can he maintain links with LTTE. Contradictory statements. This gives an implication that still the LTTE is in action. Keeping a photograph is not an offence

Can anybody remember the guy who was wearing a T'shirt with Bin-Larden's pic in a western country? What happened to him?
Problem arises as to why he framed it? It implies there is something beyond what we see. Can he preserve a photo of a brutal facist leader who killed children as his own and can he show it to them back for their future reference??

For God's sake, don't the police have more sensible things to spend their time on?
