The Sri Lanka Army today said that the latest Channel-4 video, released last night, featuring two soldiers, is a fake.
"Persons appearing in this latest video are not from the Sri Lanka Army. This is yet another attempt to justify their earlier video," Military spokesman Maj.Gen Ubaya Madawela said.
In the newest episode released by Channel-4, a witness, who had worked under the then head of 58th division of the Army, Brigadier Shavendra Silva, in the frontline towards the end of the civil war, claimed that Brigadier was ordered by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa “to finish the job by whatever means necessary.”
Meanwhile, deputy permanent representative of Sri Lanka to the UN, Major General Shavendra Silva dismissed the new allegation when he was confronted outside the United Nations building in New York by the Channel-4 journalists.

The reason being most of the compnaies in UK are being bankcrupt. Their companies are closed down one by one... they will do this kind of low level activities to be survieved.

This is the whole problem, we must speak with ONE voice. Too many people making statements contracts each other without their knowledge.
Vani Kumar Thursday, 28 July 2011 01:57 PM
To Gaya: Why no comments about the comments from former President CBK about C4 Video?

NN Friday, 29 July 2011 02:16 AM

BTW they want us to believe some blurry video of a person where you can't find anything saying that he's a Sri Lankan,no voice,at least no skin color?Do they think just the name 'Fernando' means he's Sri Lankan?lol
Bumba Thursday, 28 July 2011 03:57 AM
A so called government politician when interviewed by the International media on the fist Channel 4 video said that as the Sri Lanka army has over a one hundred thousand men and women, the people in that video can be identified. How come now they say the people in the video are not soldiers so quickly. Fishy!
Jathi wadiya Thursday, 28 July 2011 03:55 AM

Ranger Thursday, 28 July 2011 04:10 AM
Speaking in a generalisticand unbiased manner, any thing said or done against the regime is a fake or unpatriotic. This officer seems to blabber without being realistic or fully knowledgeable of this problem. We are Sri Lankan, so let's simply accept what is being dished out.
Bumba Thursday, 28 July 2011 03:48 AM
The first response may be army or bad oil is to deny without making any investigation. it is a case of losing credibility. Way to go for a nation fast becoming a "Banana Republic".
ravi Thursday, 28 July 2011 05:02 AM
is there anybody able to prove no body has been killed in the war.. i mean.. innocent public..
Shak Thursday, 28 July 2011 05:09 AM
Why is Channel 4 so anti Sri Lankan when they are not a global station? True global stations like BBC, CNN are not like this at all. Channel 4 has a big vendetta towards Sri Lanka.
curious Thursday, 28 July 2011 05:57 AM
You don't know buddy. How about a foreign trip? It is not betrayal, it is telling the truth.
sajitha Thursday, 28 July 2011 06:00 AM
Come on.. dont you know that Channel 4 second senior in charge is a Tamil guy from sri lankan who funded LTTE operations in London.
kattai jeya Thursday, 28 July 2011 06:14 AM
Why Channel 4 hates Sri Lanka so much?
willows Thursday, 28 July 2011 06:43 AM
Channel 4 funded by LTTE rump, so don't take anything serious.
