Actress Angela Seneviratne yesterday denied the allegations saying that even she was unaware of such a thing, and therefore, disappointed about adverse media publicity given without verifying details. She said that she only knew it through some journalists.

“I do not know anything about it. Anybody can send any parcel to anyone. I consulted my lawyers and went to the Kollupitiya police station. The police did not record a statement from me because they have not framed me. But, only the media have framed me. I am disappointed.  I am now sick of living in this country because of the media,” she said.

She said she would issue a media release soon after consulting her lawyers. “Some media reports say that I am not in the country. I am very much in Sri Lanka,” she said.  (Kelum Bandara)

Why is she all flustered if she is not guilty. Besides it was the customs and not the police who caught the British citizen. So she should give her statement to the PNB since this is a drug problem. Why should she consult her lawyers if she is not guilty. Let the PNB prove her guilty. As far as I can remember if the parcel is addressed in her name and another person has to collect it on her behalf she should fill the persons name, ID and sign it to give him the authority. Don't blame the singer, blame the song my dear.
