The SLC Chairman Upali Dharmadasa said that the allegations against T. M. Dilshan were baseless. “We have refuted them. It was only an allegation which had been sorted out earlier, following discussions. However due to instigation by someone or incitement these allegations are again surfacing,” he said. He said that this was purely an attempt to sling mud at Dilshan.
When asked about who would have resorted to such an act, he said he did not know, but added that such things should never have occurred. He said it was bad publicity.
Dilshan’s wife Manjula Thilini said,. “This is not the first time that such allegations had been levelled at Dilshan. It is common for popular personalities to be at the receiving end of this type of character assassination. At one time I too faced this type of allegation. This is nothing unusual and it does not warrant my making a statement on the issue.” (Dinesh Manthrivithana)
