Acid attack: Three arrested

Three suspects including an Ayurvedic doctor was arrested in connection with last Friday’s acid attack on North Central Province Ayurvedic Commissioner Dr. Kumara Alwis, police sources said.

The arrested Ayurvedic doctor, who is attached to the Manampitiya Ayurvedic hospital, is an owner of an Ayurvedic spa and treatment centre in the Minneriya area.

Dr. Alwis is being treated at the Colombo National Hospital forsevere injuries to his face and eyes. (Rohana Chandradasa)
