Accident involving US envoy’s vehicle convoy

An accident involving a motorcycle and one of the backup vehicles of the US Ambassador’s convoy was reported from Karadiyanaru, Batticaloa this evening. The Ambassador was unharmed, police said.

The couple riding the motor cycle were admitted to the Karadiyanaru Hospital with minor injuries. The backup vehicle was released by the Karadiyanaru police after the driver’s statement was recorded.

    In this country Might is Right and its an unofficial basic road rule that larger vehicles have priority over the smaller vehicles, and VIP vehicles have priority over all others!!.

    how come the vehicle and driver is released, if there is a injured person and in hospital, the driver needs to be remanded. and vehicle needs to be in police custody.

    Doing her job: opening two re-built schools and inspecting a prosthesis unit in a hospital, paid for in part by the U.S. I don't see the Chinese ambassador opening schools.
