Abusive mom remanded

A mother in Avisawella has been remanded for abusing her two young children by holding hot rods to their hands and bodies, the police media unit said today. The two children were aged five and one and a half years old.

The mother was arrested following a complaint lodged by the father of the two children in Dehiyowita. The two children have been admitted for treatment at the Avisawella hospital.

The Avisawella police are conducting further investigations. (Daily Mirror online)

The majority of the nation being Buddhist, and temples and statues being built in almost every junction simply to remind people of Buddhism and its teachings and mainly to reduce these type inhuman activities.

Many parents, specially mothers silently abuse children as punishments. Women's organizations etc try to hide this. But let's talk openly and change this habit and instill the value of punishing the children in a more human non physical way. Even emotional abuse in front of others should be condemned. But we should positively reinforce good behavior in front of all and negatively reinforce undesired behavior in private. Of course many father's are also responsible for child abuse.

Women in need or children in need ? we were getting so many unsolicited sms's for women in need. how about children in need ?
Also how about parents and specially mothers who abuse children at a rate.

Pls don't make silly comments… this is a serious psychological problem in our society. Some men & women go mad when they do live in poverty and go thr'u family problems.. Neighbours can also play a vital role to overcome these issues…

My quick reaction was like all others that this woman is sick. Well, to torture her own small children (one is one only 18 months) who knows what difficulties or agony that this woman is going through. Easy to punish this mother but there are so many other woman also going through the same mental conditions. Its a social problem we dont have a system to prevent it. Male Chauvinism is a main reason too.
