Won't allow taxes to be a burden to people: MS

President Maithripala Sirisena said he would not allow economists to enforce any tax that would burden the public.

Speaking at a meeting in Polonnaruwa this morning, the President made the comment responding to a number of media reports on taxes.

    Actually, he should first reduce the expenses of the jumbo cabinet. More the ministers we have, more the hurdles people have to jump (pay) to get things done, further increasing the cost of living.
