The Government today said it will not accept Karu Jayasuriya as the Speaker of Parliament.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa told in parliament that they will not accept the parliament or Mr.Jayasuriya as the Speaker.
Afterwards, Minister Udaya Gammanpila also said they would not accept Karu Jayasuriya as the Speaker.

Removing the Speaker can not be done from a press briefing, Bring a no confidence motion and remove him. Simple solution?

I suggest two nominees in addition to Wimal: Gamampila and Bandula 'coz they speak the hind leg of a donkey all the time!!!!!
Banda Friday, 23 November 2018 06:15 PM
Sorry, the law maker Wimal only passed 8th standard before taking up arms and so talk bit immaturely.
Mohan Friday, 23 November 2018 08:35 PM
For the record, Wimal W was a low level JVP memeber who never had any active role in politburo decisions. At the demise of JVP leadership he managed to escape with some looted gold and started communication centre around kohuwala area. JVP used this place to meet after returning to mainstream. He is like KP of JVP.

This fake government thinks they are the only people who must live in this country. Uneducated people and so called educated people like GL, Bandula cannot fool us any more. Though UNP has not done a good job at least they didn't do this bad to the country!

No opposition, speaker never acted on NCMs against Rajitha, delayed the NCM against Ravi until he resigns voluntarily.
dayan Friday, 23 November 2018 06:19 PM
I have not heard a government telling that the speaker is not accepted. People can not do any thing on this. If a government can not bring a resolution and defeat any thing not acceptable to it that means there is no a government.
sach Friday, 23 November 2018 10:20 PM
Because you have not heard of a speaker extremely biased towards his party before

Sumal Friday, 23 November 2018 06:31 PM
Who is responsible for this or who is entertaining this attitude? Sri Lanka never experienced similar violation of law in the past. Why citizen can't violate laws if law makers can?
Upul Friday, 23 November 2018 06:34 PM
The majority of srilankans do not accept you guys (hooligans) as members of parliament.
Samson Friday, 23 November 2018 07:24 PM
Which govt?
Hi Friday, 23 November 2018 08:26 PM
This is the first time I m seeing a government which can’t appoint a speaker from their side
sach Friday, 23 November 2018 10:21 PM
In 2004, elected gov failed to appoint a speaker on their own.
K Chokshnadan Friday, 23 November 2018 08:31 PM
If they feel that the speaker is biased they can easily bring a no faith motion and remove him. Why they are not doing it? You can't remove the speaker by having press briefings.
NImal Friday, 23 November 2018 10:06 PM
Has there ever been a government in this country the members of which have behaved in this shameful manner in the Parliament putting the democracy into shame? What is it they are going to gain out of this?
Sarath Friday, 23 November 2018 10:50 PM
Speaker enjoys confidence of parliament.
joshua Saturday, 24 November 2018 01:28 PM
How can you remove him? By staging another of your death fast. Actually why don't you do it. SL would be better place without you. The people of this country wants the speaker and not you and the fake government.
