A 28-year-old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Aluth Oya in Habarana last night, Police said.
They said the 119 emergency unit received information stating that an individual was assaulting his wife at their house.
Acting on the information, the Habarana Police arrested the suspect who was fleeing in a lorry with the injured woman. The woman succumbed to her injuries on admission to the Habarana Hospital.
Investigations revealed that a family dispute might have led to the incident.
