You have to understand that Karuna can be a bad person while in LTTE but he was the single critical factor that SL military used against terrorist hideouts. Without Karuna joining the government, the war would have been still alive while thousands and thousands more could have been dead. We need to see the final results, not someone such as Karuna misinterpreting his involvement.

Even if he did, this is not the way to go about it. Soldiers in battle do not behave in this manner. He is now a war criminal and should be treated as one, hope the our president can do justice to our soldiers

All things are pointing to Indians' policies as big brothers, including creating Tamil armed groups. When they deliberately created Tamil armed groups and pushed Tamils backward as terrorists to destroy Sri Lanka they didn't realise they were pushing South Asia backward. If you analyse the education and knowledge between the Chinese and South Asians politicians it is clear what is coming. This is the reason I do not want to involve in South Asian politics. If I do, I would be jumping into a sinking ship.

"Colonel" Karuna is undoubtedly a merciless war criminal, just like the Generals Gota brought to public office. However, he was a gifted strategist (far better than Prabhakaran) whom the officers of the SL Forces had nothing to oppose. Karuna's people were well trained and highly motivated, even the children who were forcefully conscripted. The SL Forces recruited poor village boys because the cowardly middle and upper class boys, the so-called patriots, lived well in Colombo or at foreign universities. The village boys were far from being war heroes. They were poorly trained and ran away from the first enemy fire (65,000 deserters). They were cowards like many officers. They were used as cannon fodder for incompetent officers. Just because Ranil persuaded "Colonel" Karuna to change sides with his fighters (the best of the terrorist outfit), the SL Forces won the war, with the cruelest violations of human rights and the slaughter of many civilians.
