Child Affairs State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran has reportedly decided to resign from her portfolio.
The concerns were raised on the recent controversial statement Minister Maheswaran made at a State function held in Jaffna, that there was a huge need of reorganization of the LTTE in the North and East.

Vijayakala's outburst was due to the failure of the police force to curb the rampant crimes is Jaffna. Utter frustration had drivin this lady to go insane.Taking moral responsibility, the IGP and the law and Order Minister should also resign.

Damage has been done in a style no one had imagined. Need better and tough laws to prevent such incidents in future.

This is what happens when parties nominate wrong types. She should resign form Parliament and the UNP as she has created a major issue when the country has many to contend with including the men in robes

I think that she got carried away and got too emotional during the speech. Maybe there were less criminal activities during LTTE time. That was because they were ruthless and punished everyone without any chance for defense. Its the same in North Korea. Don't think that the people of Jafna want that type of a life.

Good to accept moral responsibility for her lapse. The present Govt does nothing and she should have no regrets about it. What about RK and his bond team

At last a politician who has taken responsibility for their actions. The rest of the parliamentary club should take this as an example on how to behave responsibly in public life.
