Megalopolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said that the November 16 Presidential Election will be a mother of all future elections to be held in the country.

The Minister said that the candidate who won the presidential election would be empowered to dissolve parliament in March 2020 and that would lead to a parliamentary election in the same or the following month.

Pointing out that the all provincial councils now stand dissolved with the term of the Uva Provincial Council lapsing this month, he added that the new president would be able to make arrangements for the holding of PC elections adopting necessary amendments to the laws of the provincial councils.

According to him, those elections would be held next time after another period of five years. (Dayaseeli Liyanage)

Patali Champika is a looser. We saw JHU endorsed Sajith Premadasa confined into a tent. JHU had loose the vote base 100%. The Buddhist vote base JHU commanded is no more because of sinister motives on this man Patali Champika Ranawaka. His dream to become the President of Sri Lanka is only a DAY dream

You sound like a child. Every Presidential election whether from the past, the present, or the future makes people at the time of the election to feel as if it is the mother of all elections, sadly you have not learnt much.

Champika is spending more money than Anura or Mahesh even though he is not a presidential candidate. I wonder whether the money came from.
