State Minister Dilan Perera said the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) had informed President Maithripala Sirisena that they refused to remain in a government led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking to Daily Mirror, the State Minister said people’s mandate had been given against Premier Wickremesinghe’s administration.
He also said discussions were ongoing regarding future political situation. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

On the same scale one could also say the people's mandate is overwhelmingly for Mahinda Rajapakse.

This is silly. This election was not about giving mandate for PM or president. People gave the mandate to handle the garbage, drains, etc.

All the politicians are winners in this country and the people have become the losers. We don't want any more talk from you guys just go away. Dissolve this government and hold a general election if any of you are that confident.

What is the use after spending a colossal sum for another election, a mixture of some set of rogues will come back. We the public have no way out.

Dilan, the people rejected MS more than they rejected RW. So why not you ask MS to step down and handover to RW for the rest of the term? That seems more logical than your argument!

Indeed they (UPFA members) have proved that they had a landslide victory on 10th February in their constituencies. So they can form their own government.

Constant power struggle between UNP and MS's SLFP branch makes no favors to the country.

Have you met them in Nallathanni? Ha ha ha.....

This guy is one of the biggest mistakes made by MS. Ranil and many UNPs flatly rejected him but MS insisted to take him aboard after listening to instructions given by SB, another loser in last general elections.

if you are not willing to be part of this govt. please step down instead of making press statements
Seivyn Wednesday, 14 February 2018 02:51 PM
Susil premajayantha boasted about his party coming into power underestimating UNP through his concocted assessment. Now he stands rejected for the second time. Fool.

Dilan who lost many elections is trying to open his B' mouth always like a croc. He could meet his clan and be with them at Madamulana, no need to climb Nallathanniya.
