The United Kingdom told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva yesterday that they welcomed the decision of Sri Lankan Government to return more land to its people, and to establish an Office for Reparations.
Speaking at the 40th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, Foreign Office Minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon said they encouraged Sri Lanka to implement in full the commitments made to this Council to secure long-term reconciliation.
He said the UK remains committed to strengthening human rights, both at home and abroad and that they remain committed to justice, accountability, and the rules based international system.

Though progress is slow, there is some progress than none which is much appreciated, But individuals implicated with War Crimes on both sides should be brought to justice, with immediate effect, least then the breth of the loved once would least see justice in some way for murders committed by these men.

There is a clear differance between Tamil politician and others in this country,While Sinhalese students /kids in south are encourage to learn tamil in school and also at home Northern province is not encouraging Students/kids to learn Sinhalese so as they can continue with false propaganda and keep the tension among general Tamil community and others. Keeping the communication gap between communities is advantageous only for politicians. This must be stopped by new Governor in north !
