TNA MP funds construction of LTTE Mausoleum

TNA MP S. Sridharan had allocated Rs.4 million out of his decentralized budget to renovate the Mahaviru Mausoleum where the bodies of dead LTTE members are buried in Kanakapuram in Kilinochchi, it is reported.

This sum is to be taken out of the decentralized allocations made to the MP for development work of the Kilinochchi District. Approval for this had been granted by both the Karachchi divisional secretariat and the Kilinochchi Divisional Secretariat, it was revealed.

MP Sridharan, during an observation visit to the site, had informed the media that he intends using this money to renovate the graves of the LTTE members that had been there since 2009 and also to construct a protective wall around the cemetery.

A decision was taken at the last meeting of the Kilinochchi District Development Committee to allow a group headed by MP Sridharan to begin renovation work on this cemetery. (Romesh Madushanka)

The LTTE have never accepted the responsibility for all the destructions happened to the Tamils since it hijacked the Tamil Nationalism and started a suicidal war. Now it wants to honour its own war dead but the silent majority will never ever honour you nor forgive you .

The government must NOT allow this. Not even with private funds. This is sensitive and will never be accepted by the Sinhala and Muslims, because they also suffered. Can Germany build a monument for Hitler? !Just learn from the past and live for today like dignified human beings. Dont STIR the pot which bring NO benefits.

Freedom fighters should have won the freedom when the opportunities came on the door way ,not for separation but for reasonable existence that would have been free from Sinhala Buddists hegemony .But VP had the fighters and the people killed brutally by his idiotic approach .Now this idiot is set to have squandered the money which could be used for the people who were made by LTTE as paupers .
