A cache of military items containing military uniforms, weapons and live ammunition, was found from a house in Bowala, Walasmulla by Special Task Force yesterday, police said. A 58-year-old suspect was also taken into custody.
A foreign-made hand grenade, a locally made rifle, 105 rounds of live ammunition for a T-56 rifle, 31 rounds of various types of live ammunition, two swords, a knife, 5 army camouflage uniforms, camouflage cloths, 8 army caps, 8 green coloured full uniforms, five camouflage t-shirts, 5 army lunch boxes, several army badges were among the items that were found.(Anisha Manage)
