The Sri Lankan Government condemned the yesterday’s terrorist attack on a Sinai Mosque in Egypt in which more than 200 people were killed.

In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said yesterday that the Government condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on worshippers at a mosque in the Sinai region of Egypt.

“Attacking those at prayer is an act of inexplicable brutality. The Government and people of Sri Lanka offer deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and wish those who are injured, a speedy recovery,” it said.

While expressing solidarity with the Government of Egypt at this time of national mourning, it said the Sri Lankan Government urges the international community to join hands to find effective ways and means to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Dear Daily Mirror Editor,1.You have to behave like proper news paper and inform the readers clearly what your prerequisites are for a comment to be accepted and published. It makes readers very angry and frustrated when their hard worked comments are ignored .2.It has been noted by readers that you are scared to print comments critical of the Indians or the LTTE. In that case make that clear to the readers.3.You are also being accused of cowardice for not reporting anything about the Chinese Indian military stand off that lasted nearly three months.3.You are failing to publish important news from Britain and the USA.Thus perpetuating the ignorance of the Sri Lankan people who still think that the Westerners are superior humans. You are the only news paper most red by all communities in Sri Lanka and the expatriates. So please take note of my above four points and try to rectify so to progress.Thanks.
