Four armed men are reported to have robbed Rs.7.8 million belonging to a leading clothing store this morning while the cash was being taken to one of its branches in Kadawatha from a branch in Wattala in a van.
The robbers had parked the car across the road at a spot near the Basilica College on the Kadawatha-Ragama Road.
They had shot at the tyres and threatened the employees with the weapons before snatching the cash and fleeing the scene of the crime. (Devapriya Chandrasiri)

These things are common in Kadawatha due to the inactivity or the influence of Kadawatha police. Seek the records, Kadawatha has the highest burglary numbers in Sri lanka and the lowest success of apprehending the crimes. Most sleepy police people who only cares about the traffic offence.

Cashless is the way to go. Some businesses would like the cash to hide their revenue and avoid taxes. There are also armored vehicle services available to transport cash. Good no one got killed in this incident.
