The government should give priority to Sri Lankan expatriates who wish to return to the country rather than focusing on bringing down COVID-19 patients from Seychelles for treatment, former opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.
“Many Sri Lankans in the Middle East and other countries are suffering since the outbreak of COVID-19. They repeatedly plead the government to bring them back to Sri Lanka. The government does not seem to be responding to this call,” he said.
“Why is the government giving priority to provide treatment for those from Seychelles? Attention should be paid to the requests made by expatriates as they play a pivotal role in the national economy through foreign remittances.(Yohan Perera)
Can't this man understand the difference between 35 and 35000? We need quarantine facilities of 30000 if we are to bring down all expatriates at once.

seaschells only had 11 covid 19 patients and all of them have recovered.
Non of the 35 who came here are covid19 positive. They are medical tourists who came here for other diseases. So that is just another way to earn foreign exchange.

Ya father of the nation, trying to score some points. Bringing stranded Sri Lankans are being brought under timely basis. Don;t be jealous of Seycheles patients coming for treatment in Sri Lanka. Credit goes to our President not you or any others.
