    Sokrates Saturday, 27 June 2020 06:02 PM

Self quarantine? These undisciplined people will never follow it. Put them14 days in Army Quarantine Camps but let them pay for their food and the PCR tests.

    DEA Saturday, 27 June 2020 06:14 PM

Very good, but please make sure that this rule applies to Police constables in public places too. I have seen without masks.

    Biochemist Saturday, 27 June 2020 06:28 PM

Some people suffer from asphyxiation from wearing masks. How are they to cope?

    Shawn Tuesday, 30 June 2020 12:12 PM

They're expected to die. As far as the MOH is concerned, it doesn't matter how you die, as long as you wear a mask while dying.

Hans perlee Saturday, 27 June 2020 06:40 PM

    Then start with politicians.

Bernhard Eichmann Saturday, 27 June 2020 06:50 PM

Totala nonsense. In shops, banks and in transport it is fine. But on the street, that's total nonsense.

    DillonDP Sunday, 28 June 2020 10:49 AM

Public is a place where people come together... Street does not come into that category

    Sambo Saturday, 27 June 2020 08:28 PM

Not only arrest them but give them a big penalty as they could be carriers of the virus. Our people don't care of their own safety so do you think they care for others. Punishment is the only solution.

    Kishan Saturday, 27 June 2020 08:35 PM

What about those going to walk in jogging paths

Sri Lanka has brilliantly managed the Covid-19 with the full participation of the Army, the world is coming to recognise this effort. Even Australia is copying the Sri Lankan pioneered strategy of using the military. Now the Police is interfering and trying to spoil the well earned Sri Lankan reputation by planning to arrest those not wearing masks. Someone has to tell the police to listen to the Army. To deal with those not wearing the masks, the proper civilised action has to be “not to arrest” but to issue “on the spot fine payable within 24 hours”.

Ronnie Bugger Saturday, 27 June 2020 09:14 PM

Start by arresting bus drivers. I've seen them with the face mask around their neck while their mouths are busy chewing betel and spitting out at every stop.

Rex Jarkie Sunday, 28 June 2020 05:46 AM

Josef Fueglein Sunday, 28 June 2020 11:04 AM

Why a group of people can walk around Negombo and gather for voters for the next election without wearing masks and don't keep distance?

Warren Raed Sunday, 28 June 2020 11:55 AM

We notice on significant thing with Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon and DIG Ajith Rohana that is they are both very good at threatening the general public on arresting. I guess all that they have learnt in the police career is ARREST, ARREST, ARREST, ARREST everyone you can!

    D Perera Sunday, 28 June 2020 12:49 PM

Why do we need to wear masks when there was no infection in the community for more than one month?

    mp Sunday, 28 June 2020 04:24 PM

Wearing a mask for a long duration specially when walking on the road under the burning hot sun is terrible. When profusely sweating, it is unbearable and difficult to breathe.

    K.L Pathirana Sunday, 28 June 2020 05:31 PM

If we have totally controlled C19 as we have gained credit, then why is it necessary to wear a face mask at all ? Is there anything we should know about that we don't know ?
