Parliament sitting was suspended following a tense situation today when opposition MPs protested against yesterday’s vote on the supplementary estimate of Rs. 55 million.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya convened a party leaders meeting after the tense situation and a four-member committee headed by Opposition leader R. Sampanthan was appointed to look into yesterday’s vote.
