Parliament sitting was suspended following a tense situation today when opposition MPs protested against yesterday’s vote on the supplementary estimate of Rs. 55 million.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya convened a party leaders meeting after the tense situation and a four-member committee headed by Opposition leader R. Sampanthan was appointed to look into yesterday’s vote.

It is disgraceful to see our politicians behave like this in parliament. When Mahinda was in power we never have had any problem like this because these lot were with MAHINDA. These lots are uneducated thugs.
