The PRECIFAC today recorded a statement from former Highways, Ports and Shipping Project Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardane over an allegation of misappropriating over Rs. 300 million when organizing the opening and water-filling ceremony of the Hambantota Port in 2010.
A spokesman for the Commission said they have received a complaint alleging that over Rs. 300 million had been misused when organizing ceremony.
He said Mr. Abeygunawardane was questioned by the Commission over the matter as he was the subject minister during that time. (Ajith Siriwardana)
