Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera said today no criminal liability would arise from the findings of the Office of Missing Persons to be set up under the legislation passed today..
He said it was only aimed at establishing the truth. Therefore, he said there was no reason for anyone to panic.

Then why was this passed in such a hurry even without a proper debate and vote. Looks very fishy.

But try to convince the JO who are afraid that their boss will somehow be found to have had a hand in the disappearance of people and are hell bent to protect him!!!

It was in the order book since June and the govt agreed to debate till 6pm tomorrow but the JO only wanted chaos and disruption to embarrass govt. while all proper amendments were included in final bill. JO only creates problems to be in the limelight.
