The officer in-charge of the Panadura (North) Police, Inspector Prabath Paranawithana has been Interdicted today after two T-56 assault rifles went missing from the police station last week.
Police said the IP was Interdicted by the Acting IGP under a covering approval of the National Police Commission (NPC).
An investigation was launched under the direction of Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province after the two T-56 assault rifles went missing from the police station on July 6.
The IP was Interdicted following the investigation. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
