Nine brokers arrested at BIA premises

Nine persons have been arrested for illegally interfering with passengers at the Bandaranaike International Airport by the STF yesterday.

Police said the suspects, believed to be brokers, had inappropriately tried to influence both local and foreign passengers at the Arrival Terminal of the BIA when they were arrested.

They were handed over to the Katunayake Police.

Police said the suspects, aged between 31 and 68, were identified as residents of Andiambalama, Galle, Minuwangoda, Negombo, Wariyapola, Seeduwa and Walasmulla.

They are expected to be produced in the Negombo Magistrate's Court.
