They are highly concern about earning income despite that middle income earners are suffering that there is no enough space to go to office on the train. via DM Android App

Promoting tourism means Sri Lanka is earning money. This is a very good move.

This is a good move to promote tourism. Please make sure that the toilets are kept clean throughout the journey.

Hopefully there will be no free rides for railway employees. These should only get free rides in the third class.

This decision is a brilliant commendable one.The A/C DMU which departs Colombo Fort on Fridays at 5.35 pm is put into good use catering to mainly foreign tourists travelling upto Ella during weekends. The two return journeys are making money. Earlier the return journey from Kandy to Col. Fort on Saturday morning and another almost empty trip on Sunday at 2.20 pm from Col. Fort to Kandy were utter losses. The fully loaded Train profitably returns back to Colombo fort on Monday morning by 8.30am. Good planning.

For those who comment on working class. As it is the season ticket is a pittance . What do they want? Free train rides? Or a comfy ac seat for the season ticket price? This country is at a stand still because of you. Want everything for free.

Its time the Bus service too do the same with more AC and seat facilities (with no foot board) on time to minimise single user car travelers.

We should start this not from Kandy but from Katunayake to Colombo and all the way to Ella. Why only weekends, is it going to be parked to rust during the week??Please think of productivity!!!And I agree with the fact that this should be open for the Locals as well, after all the Locals now spend more money anywhere more than the tourists,
