The countrywide sale of liquor and all alcoholic beverages will be banned in view of Poson Poya on June 5 and 6, the Excise Department announced.
It said the order will prevail on all wine shops, bars, restaurants, taverns and hotels around the country.
It also said all meat stalls, slaughter houses and betting centres to be closed on the two days.

As is the practice, there will be record sales on the 4th of June. The stupidity of the law is thereby exposed.

Who is stupid, the law or the idiot who uses them and destroys himself?
Warren Raed Monday, 01 June 2020 10:15 PM
Most politicians have a stock for about 12 months in in their houses. What a joke the laws are? These laws apply only to the poor masses.
