The OIC of the Ja-Ela Police has been transferred by the National Police Commission (NPC) on a request made by the Elections Commission.
NPC Secretary Nishantha Weerasinghe said the Elections Commission Chairman requested to transfer the OIC as he had violated election laws.
Accordingly, Chief Inspector Nilantha Bandara was transferred to the Police Headquarters.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
