Indian Naval Ship Trikand called at the Colombo Port on a three-day goodwill visit on Saturday.
The Commanding Officer of the Indian ship Captain Upal Kundu called on the Commander Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Western Naval Command Headquarters, the SLN said in a statement.
It said
“They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and exchanged mementoes to mark the occasion. The Assistant Defence Adviser of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Ravi Shekhar Mishra, was also present on this occasion.
“Further, the Navy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva accompanied by Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Director Naval Operations, Commodore Sanjeewa Dias and several officers also visited the Indian Naval Ship Trikand,” it said.
Meanwhile the Commanding Officer of the visiting Maldivian ship Huravee, Major Mohomed Jamshad and the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Maldives in Sri Lanka, Colonel Ahamed Ghiyas called on Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Western Naval Command Headquarters and held cordial discussions.
Both naval crafts are scheduled to set sail tomorrow (9). (Darshana Sanjeewa)

One needs to be extra and SUPER alert where India is concerned and I hope that our Naval Officers are well aware of the subversive activities being currently carried out in Sri Lanka by various foreign agencies. India, Maldives could well be complicit. MM
