The Navy and the Special Task Force (STF) today arrested 24 Sri Lankans including two masterminds behind the human trafficking racket, when they were attempting to illegally leave for the Reunion Island via sea route.
Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the 22 suspects were arrested at a lodge in Siyambalanduwa following a tip off.
At the time of their arrest, the suspects were planning to leave for the Reunion Island via sea route. Three women and four children were among the arrested.
Meanwhile, the two human traffickers were arrested at a lodge in Pannegamuwa, Tissamaharama.

Because of these idiots we are not able travel freely. Day by day our visa restrictions are getting tougher and tougher. Thanks to these guys Sri Lanka is just above few countries from the bottom of the most powerful passports in the world. I hope the government take this in to serious consideration and give them maximum punishment.
