SLFP National Organizer Minister Susil Premajayantha has informed former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday (16) that unless the President takes steps to form a government sans members of the UNP by the end of the week, 15 SLFP ministers and parliamentarians including himself would be willing to join the joint opposition.
He gave this promise during a meeting he had with the former president at his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha in Colombo.
He said that the present 'Yahapalana' government had lost the people’s mandate and therefore should cease to exist.
In response, former President Rajapaksa had said he would welcome all of them into the fold. (Nalaka Sanjeewa Dahanayaka)

I THINK MR'S NEW RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD TO REPLACE OLD FILES WITH NEW ONES AND ORDERING MODERN FILING CABINETS.
Janaya Monday, 19 February 2018 10:46 AM
All old files and cabinets can be STORED in a special ARCHIVE for future generations to read.
GC Monday, 19 February 2018 03:23 PM
Now that the SLFP and UPFA have lost their mandates, should they not leave the parliament itself?
Vigned Monday, 19 February 2018 09:17 AM
What a joke .so far this government put economic foundation so now time to give people dricect benifits
sandy Monday, 19 February 2018 09:18 AM
haha anyway these opportunists were waiting for an opportunity to change the side to JO. now they got it. MR should reconsider this decision as it is against the will of majority who voted him last election.

RW has no legitimate wright to stay as PM allowing Mahendran to slip out of the country.
PC Monday, 19 February 2018 09:41 AM
RW is neither the Police nor the Judiciary. What a foolish statement. It shows your mentality!

All drama by responsible people prove that they don't own any policy.
Kadmin Monday, 19 February 2018 09:38 AM
Good. Please do that so. All these so called MPs came through national list and they think they have a voting base to control the government at will. This could be the best outcome of this election.
BuffaloaCitizen Monday, 19 February 2018 09:50 AM
You will all face the repercussions at the next elections. The people of this country can make and break you. We can see, despite the country being in dire straits, opportunistic activities are blatantly taking place specifically for benefit of the party and portfolios. The suffering citizens are the last thoughts of all in this parliament.
Nihal Monday, 19 February 2018 09:54 AM
Asan is right. RW MUST step down from premiership and party leadership. He and his boys have ruined this once strong party that boasted of stalwarts like DS, Dudley, Lalith, Atukorale, Gamini D, Anandatissa and Premadasa. IF they remain any longer the party will end up in the dustbin of politics. People who still want this man to head the party are just being very immature and blind
Ram Monday, 19 February 2018 09:57 AM

The current uncertainty is harmful for the country and its economy. Citizens do not want another round of political pole vaulting. Best option is to let the people decide on the next stable government. It is time for a General Election.

MR looking for SLPF government to hide or get law suits cancelled as the only way and willing to spend any amount of opersition MP's to join and Susil always 'depita kattu' guy is responsible for MS defeat and better we stick to UNP for these remaining to see whether they bring rogues to law,
Buddhi Perera Monday, 19 February 2018 10:31 AM
This man is a shameless coward. How can he asked for a UPFA government with 9 MPs? Because the LG elections were held together on one day, the result appears as enormous. If it was scattered, nobody would have noticed it. And MR still got less than what he got last two times.
buddi Monday, 19 February 2018 10:43 AM
You go who cares " Baala Petrol"
