Holiday packages for frontline health workers from Cinnamon

The management of the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts hotel chain link has decided to offer a holiday package for healthcare service employees who had been exceptional and committed in treating COVID-19 infected patients, the President’s Media Division said.

The Chairperson of the John Keells Holdings, Krishan Balendra handed over the details of the package named “Cinnamon Suwawiru Pranama” to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat today.

Following the recommendations by Ministry of Health, the package had been offered to 1,000 hospital staff members including their families in appreciation of their contribution in treating COVID-19 patients.

They have been offered to spend two fully accommodated nights in one of the any nine hotels in the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts chain.

The package will be valid from July 1st, 2020 to September 30th. Those who had been selected could spend their holiday in one of the following hotels; Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, Cinnamon Red Colombo, Cinnamon BeyBeruwala, Cinnamon Wild Yala, Cinnamon Lodge Habarana, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, Habarana Village by Cinnamon and TrincoBlu by Cinnamon.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Defence Secretary Kamal Gunaratne, Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Army Commander Shavendra Silva and Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe were present at the occasion.

Good idea and this is what you call thinking outside the box . Since not every health worker has vehicles of their own please also provide them with free transport facilities. Let the Leading leasing companies who are making billions in profits come up and offer the cost of their transportation.

My opinion all health workers including minor staff in hospitals and PHI deserve some sort of incentives like this but giving only 1000 selectively people with or without political interference is unfair.
