Gangodawila Magistrate Kanishka Wijerathne’s order to release former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage on bail was suspended by Colombo High Court Judge Manilal Waidyathilaka today.
Considering the bail revision application filed by the Attorney General, the high court suspended the decision by the Gangodawila Magistrate till June 21.
The Court also called for the case report of the inquiry into allegedly keeping an elephant in contravention of the PPA and Fauna and Flora Act.
The fourth suspect, former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage, was also noticed to appear in court on June 21. (Shehan Chamika Silva and Farook Thajudeen)

Why didn"t the AG file revision applications when big wigs of the former regime accused of robbing billions of public funds were enlarged on bail by some magistrates. Keeping an elephant calf without a valid permit appears to be the biggest crime now in SL.

In a corrupted country, we cannot expect upright people. Judges, lawyers, doctors, politicians, university students and even ordinary citizens are same as all of them have grown up in a corrupted environment.

Judging by the judgment of judges ... we ordinary citizens are facing unethical law and order.

Magistrate can give bail, this is not murder case, In this case former Additional Magistrate took anticipatory bail. There is no wrong, Even CID arrest him he will get bail from MC.

This why we require foreign judges because the local judges have become corrupt to the hilt starting from Sarath N Silva.

I can't understand how Thilina is noticed to appear on the 21st. When HC suspended the magistrates ruling I think he should be automatically remanded. Can some lawyer enlighten?
