A grace period has been announced until March 31 to pay the electricity bills, the ministry of Power and Energy said. The consumers will not face disconnection during this grace period, the Ministry added.

Just 6 days... it doesn't make any difference to people who have voted for you all and waiting for our votes again..

Electricity bill is a good indicator of one's income. People who's bill is below 1000/- should be given some sort of waiver at least till this situation settles. Beyond 10000/- , they really have the bucks. (This does not apply to illegal homes where one meter feeds about 10 families)

What a joke. The ministry thinks that 216 hours will make a difference in our lives. How about a 30% concession instead ?

It's a joke to give 7 days grace period, and not even worth giving a media release for this grace period. To encourage people to stay home, govt should give a grace period of 3 - 6 months for electricity, water, telephone, internet. This is a serious matter, govt should consider it seriously.

What a pathetic country. Do our so called Buddhist leaders even see or listen to leaders of other countries take steps to help their people. Our leaders are full of hypocracy. Their, only, intention is 2/3 majority and to fill their pockets. ' Jaya-Wewa"
