German authorities have arrested an LTTE suspect alleged to have been involved in the 2005 assassination of foreign minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, foreign media reports said.

According to federal prosecutors, the 39-year-old Navanithan G was arrested in Southwestern Germany on Wednesday.

The man, whose surname wasn't released because of Germany privacy laws, is accused of membership in a foreign terrorist organization, murder and attempted murder.

Prosecutors said the suspect was part of the group's secret police, participating in the killing of Sri Lankan foreign minister Kadirgamar in August 2005 and the attempted killing of Eelam People’s Democratic Party leader Douglas Devananda.

Hi Mr Government, now please don’t represent the accused and say he is innocent

General Rommel Friday, 18 January 2019 04:21 AM

But those who colluded, financed and logistically supported the assassin to operate within the government perimeter and those who leaked Kadirgamar's VIP security cordon are the mystery that we need to solve.

Thanks, German Law enforcement officers. There are many such terrorists in Western countries escape from SriLanka. Time to probe the GTF, whose members have criminal records.

its a fact that Canada (Toronto) and Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) protect Tigers who have committed murders in sri lanka during war years under the guise of human rights, especially the uniting church group. most tiger murderers of sri lanka have escaped the law and its time they should be brought to book, like this crook who was arrested in germany. a ship load of tigers from germany landed in Canada stating they went through a perilous journey in sea, all the way from sri lanka in mid 80s. this is how the tiger diaspora was built on foreign soil.

Raj you are another terrorist. This is how Tamil racists carry out disinformation campaign.

    Lokka Friday, 18 January 2019 08:44 AM

Sunil Vijaya is spot on. I knew many Tamils working in the Middle East going as refugees to Australia and Canada with concocted stories and getting refugee status. A golden opportunity was opened when Canada's PM, Mulroney met these illegal immigrants and accepted them without verifying facts. Canadian taxpayers had to cough up funds to maintain them. Was this not a stupid act?

If you call Raj (not me), as a terrorist, I am afraid you fall into the category of Sinhala terrorist. People like you were the reason for a 30 year old war, which only got worst with communal rights started in 1983. It is not only the tails who are refuge in countries as mentioned by you they are Sinhalese, Muslims etc. Learn to respect the other races or else stop commenting on the others. You have no right to do so.

Germans are very efficient. But the Sri Lankans could not still arrest the killers of Lasantha.
