Four more individuals passed away due to Covid-19 today climbing the total Covid-19 death toll in Sri Lanka to 73.
According to the Government Information Department, two males aged 70, 86 and two females aged 27, 59 are among the deceased.
The details of the deceased are as follows,
01.A 70-year-old male, resident of Colombo 10 succumbed to the virus on admission to a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death was identified as Covid-19 related pneumonia.
02. A 27-year-old female from Colombo 15 was pronounced dead at the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital. The cause of death has been identified as liver failure due to Covid-19 xinfection.
03. A 59-year-old female, a resident of Pokunuwita, Kalutara was reported dead at her residence. The cause of death was ruled as High Blood Pressure exacerbated by Covid-19 infection.
04. An 86-year-old male from Haltota in Kalutara passed away at his residence. The cause of death was identified as chest infection due to Covid-19. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Two of these deaths are concerning. The 27 year dying of liver failure due to covid-19 is unusual unless this patient had liver disease to start with. The 59 year old dying at home with high blood pressure is also unusual. It will be nice to know whether he had covid-19 pneumonia. These two deaths need to be further investigated.
