Four families who had come into contact with an Indian in Jaffna have been sent for self-quarantine today after the Indian was reportedly found positive for Covid-19 upon his return to India, Director of Jaffna Teaching Hospital Dr. T. Sathyamoorthy said.
He said the Indian had arrived in Sri Lanka in last February for the sale of textile and gone back to India on a ship in March through the Indian High Commission.
Dr. Sathyamoorthy said two families were found from Inuvil while another family was found from Erlalai.
“There is a minimum possibility for a person to be infected with Covid-19 in Sri Lanka at this juncture, where the spread of Covid-19 has been contained to a satisfactory degree in the island,”Dr. Sathyamoorthy added. (Sithum Chaturanga)

This Indian man had been roaming freely in Sri Lanka and was never tested. He may have been identified as a virus carrier if he was tested here. Does this mean we have lots of COVID-19 carriers who are not identified for the simple reason that they are not tested. Is this a healthy situation?
