Former Chairman of the Kaluthara Pradeshiya Sabha Lakshman Vidanapathirana has been sentenced to five year rigorous imprisonment today (07) by Colombo High Court Judge, Gihan Kulathunga, after he was found guilty of bribery charges.
He was taken into custody five years ago for taking a bribe of Rs. 3 million to construct a road to access a land that was on auction.
He was on bail and a presently a member of the Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha.

A glimpse of hope that the judiciary has got in to the first gear ! We must target the men at the top and not the men at the bottom . Once you get the leaders who are corrupt the bottom will be empty !
