President Maithripala Sirisena today instructed the officials of the newly establish special Environmental Relief Task Force to mark the flood affected areas as High Security Zones.
The President had ordered them to be on the lookout for encroachment in the Colombo area and not to reclaim lands in the Colombo District any more.

GA Kegalle should have these details. Have they ever made use of past experiences / informations to minimise human deaths /damages at a time like this? They get up from their seats after the damage is done.

Mr. President, this is a recurring problem in these areas. i.e Aranayaka, Detol-oya, Bulathkohupitiya, Undugoda, etc, etc. It is a MUST to find a permanent solution.People still live in these valnurable areas must be evacuvated and safer land shold be allocated to them for re-settlement, from Ambadeniya Estate, Karadupona Estate, Golinda Estate, Illwana and Bossella Divisions of Parambe Estate, Higgoda Estate and Yatidariya Estate. These Plantations find if difficult for labour at present as well.
